Entering to Canada with RTD

Hello,

I recently entered to Canada using my RTD and wasn't able to use declaration kiosks using my RTD. Instead, kiosk gave me a receipt that writes IMP and I was directed to border officer directly. Officer asked me questions about my trip and filled my declaration manually. Then I was redirected to another officer who asked the same questions and stamped my declaration receipt. After baggage claim, I was redirected to an officer again while everyone exits from the baggage claim. Again I was asked the same questions. Is it a normal process for RTD holders? Will I be having this issue again if I travel again?

Also I learned that I should have scanned my PR card instead of my RTD to kiosk. Would I be asked questions if I was to scan my PR card or fill the declaration from the app? What are your experiences?

3 checks is more than normal but yes there are more verifications than normal travellers. As long as you have not visited your home country then just answer thequestions.
