I'm working on a closed work permit in Canada (designated employer, acquired through LMO) and have a worker visa (category W-1 Worker) both valid till 2014.
I terminate employment with my current employer in a month and moving to US but I still want to travel to Canada from time to time with purposes not connected to work.
Would I be able to enter Canada with valid worker visa and a non-valid worker permit (I say non-valid as my employment with employer specified in the permit will be terminated by that time) with travel and entertainment purposes?

Acquiring a visa

I have a valid visa unti january 30,2013,with an open permit expires 2014,im hqving a va cation this coming nov 30-jan.9,2013..do i need a re entry visa?thnx

The work permit is valid as long as it has not expired. It doesn't matter if you still work for the employer or not, and CIC doesn't know that you quit your job.

Assuming your visa is multiple-entry, you should not need a re-entry visa. Multiple entry visas allow you entry up until a day before expiry.

Even though CIC doesn't know that you quit your job, at entry port, using your current visa, they could ask you where you are working. If you lie and they catch you it will be misrepresentation.
