Hi all. My current work visa will be expiring in November this year and I am unable to reapply for another as I have used my 2 x 2 year Working visas. My application for PR was received at the end of September 2012. I see that August 2012 applications are just starting to get their medical requests which is awesome. What are my options if my PR has not come through by the time my current work visa expires. I know I am 7 months out but just want to be prepared. Can I stay and work in Canada while my application is being processed?
You can stay in Canada legally if you are able to change status/extend your stay as:
1. a visitor(not permitted to work) or
2. your employer obtains a positive labor market opinion(LMO) and you apply for and obtain a new work permit.

Even if the work permit I am on now has not needed a LMO, will I have to apply for this? I just read the Operational Bulletin 485 and was confused on the part whether I had to apply for a LMO or not as both my work visas have not required one.
