My consultant is telling me that I need to provide original reference letters for my spouse as well for each period of her employment although I am the primary applicant and I am not claiming any points for my wife's work experience.

Seniors please comment and let me know what needs to be done. I only have a few days left before my 120 days expire and it would be very difficult to get the reference letters for my wife at this stage.

Then maybe your consultant should read the instructions? Letter's from your spouses employer are not required.

PMM

your consultant is not updated I think

in my case my consultant was asking me to send only my fees whence i have a wife and 3 children
he said we will get them in 2nd stage (this was old rule), so I withdraw from that so called consultant, and submitted application by self

THE FORUM IS MORE RELIABLE THAN MOST CONSULTANT. BY THE WAY WHERE WAS YOUR CONSULTANT SINCE BEFORE THE 120 DAYS GOT NEAR? ANYWAY I ALSO HAVE A CONSULTANT BUT I DONT RELAX I DO MOST OF MY WORK/RESEARCH MYSELF

Dear PMM,

who says spouse reference letters are not required? May be it is different for different visa offices, but in my case, visa office specific instructions read

WORK EXPERIENCE
For you and your spouse or common-law partner:

•notarized employment contracts from your present and past employers, accompanied by an English or French translation
•original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company’s official seal.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Having said that, if someones 120 days deadline is approaching, then may be you can skip this and just send them experience letters wheich normally one gets while leaving a job and explain them the situation

Farhaniqbal is absolutely right, it is clearly given in ND visa office specific checklist/E37029 that spouse's employment certificates, documents are equally required. NO doubt at all.

100% accurate, there should be no doubt that these documents are not required( as far as New Delhi office is concerned), kindly give a go at the following link (Page A-4, column 7);

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37029.pdf

Hope it will help to understand the requirements.

Best wishes

If you don't intend to claim points from your spouse then you needn't send any employer's reference letter for her/him.

There are no marks for wife's experience in any profession. Correct me if I am wrong.

@ farhan

I guess barsindoo is right & said this in context with the adaptability points (for spouse education) only, and to get those points spouse/partner's educational, work, birth, marriage, background etc. related documents and certificates are definitely required
