Employer layoff traveling abroad

Hi guys
I am planning to travel outside Canada next week but I got some bad news, my employer put me on layoff due to covid19. But I still have valid visa and work permit. Should I still traveling outside Canada and come back without any issues?
What do you recommend?

You really should be travelling with proof of your current employment so I would personally discourage travelling out of Canada if you are unemployed.
