Help! Guys, girls and to all seniors please enlighten me
I have a prospective employer who is willing to sponsor me for the Live-in caregiver program. I will be taking care of a disabled adult age at around early 50s. She (the one who is disabled) and her husband are gonna be my sponsor but then they listed the job post as NOC 6471.
Question:
1. Is NOC 6471 included under live-in caregiver program?
2. If they will sponsor me under NOC 6471, will I still be qualified to apply for permanent residency after 2 years?
PLEASE HELP!

Under the LCP, yes I am qualified. But then if she is hiring me under NOC 6471 as visiting homemaker, am I still qualified to apply for permanent residency after 2 years?

You need to be hired under the live in caregiver NOC if you want to qualify to apply for PR as an LCP after working two years.
I'm guessing that this might be the correct NOC from the 2011 tables.
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/Profile.aspx?val=4&val1=4412
4412 Home support workers, housekeepers and related occupations
Home support workers provide personal care and companionship for seniors, persons with disabilities and convalescent clients. Care is provided within the client's residence, in which the home support worker may also reside. They are employed by home care and support agencies, private households, or they may be self-employed. Housekeepers perform housekeeping and other home management duties in private households and other non-institutional, residential settings.
Example Titles
attendant for persons with disabilities – home care
family caregiver
home support worker
housekeeper
live-in caregiver – seniors
personal aide – home support
personal care attendant – home care
respite worker – home support

So what does it mean if she places me under noc 6471?

It means you can't qualify for PR under the LCP category. If PR is important to you, then before you accept the job, you should determine if this work experience will allow you to qualify to apply for PR under the Provincial Nominiee program of the province you will be working in.
This experience will not allow you to apply for PR through FSW or CEC. So PNP is your only hope.
