Email from Embassy - What does it mean?

Hello Everyone

12 weeks ago I applied for a study permit online with an open work permit for my spouse online from the UK. I received an email today from the embassy asking if my spouse now has a british passport. I am a British Citizen by birth and my spouse is an Indian passport holder with Permanent Residency in the UK. I did attach all of the documents however they are now enquiring if my spouse has a British passport??

Could this be a reason for the rejection of our visas? Also now that they have began processing our files does this mean we will hear from them soon about the decision or could it still take a while?

You should reply and expain about your wife status in UK. I don't think you should be refused, as long as you meantioned all the information in the form you filled in.

They should be able to give your your visas by first week of january or 2nd week.

Thank you very much for your responses. When we applied I had to apply for a TRV for my spouse as he is an Indian passport holder and British citizens dont require a TRV therefore I was surprised when they asked this.
