I am in Canada under TWP employer specific as athlete, since 2010.
My employer failed to fulfill obligations with payroll requirements. Instead, he provided me with new contract showing that I am self-employed, advising me to open small business and benefit from claiming my expanses.
I also took the advice from registered immigration consultant who encouraged me to proceed the same way.
May this year I finalized my PR application under Self-employed category/athlete. During my extended research I found out that it is not legal to be self employed in Canada under TWP.
I understand that I should report my employer. But will that process protect me and my 21y old son who is in Canada with me since 2010?
Will immigration take into consideration my work experience in Canada as self employed under this circumstances?

You need a good immigration lawyer. Your situation is far too complicated to be accurately answered on this forum.

It's true that it is not legal to be self employed under a closed work permit. It's also true that your employer failed to fulfill his obligations. Unfortunately I can't help you with the rest of your questions.

Again, you should really find a good lawyer to assist you.

Thank you :(...
