Hey, can anyone explain to me why my husbnad gckey says “we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements’” but tracker says it has not started?
(spousal sponsorship outland)

Gckey and tracker rarely say the same thing. IMO tracker seems more accurate regarding the status of your application and gckey is where you will receive communications and can communicate with ircc Via web forms.

Thanks. I spoke to IRCC today, they told me the tracker is not updated with the information.

How are you able to view the tracker? I have been getting an error when I try logging in to check since yesterday.

got a medical request after finishing eligibility section in tracker, but gckey - we are reviewing whether you meet the requirements.

I saw people got a refused letter , but tracker eligibility complete

If you are the principal applicant, then your eligibility completion doesn’t conclude your application. after your medicals are passed and biometric is done you will get an eligibility passed notification in your tracker. However the final decision will only be made once your background check is complete(security ,criminal checks ,admission and misrepresentation etc).


I wouldn’t pay too much heed to gckey updates. My eligibility got completed on gckey in October, whereas in tracker it had been completed in august. Gckey is NOT the place for accurate timely updates(for my case at least)

try not to stress out to much, if you have filled your forms honestly and correctly and there is nothing “wrong“ with your application, it will process in due time.

updates are not daily or even weekly, I would usually get an update once a month, if that.
