Eligibility to sponsor spouse?

Hi,
I am a PR of Canada. Last 1 year, I lived outside Canada and was employed outside Canada. Now, my employer has sent me for a contract work to Canada. It may last 6 months to a year. Will I be eligible to sponsor my spouse given that I reside in Canada?

As a PR, you must be living in Canada in order to sponsor your spouse and you must also continue living in Canada while the application is being process (until the application is approved).

So yes - as of now you certainly qualify to sponsor your spouse. However you must find a way to remain in Canada until the application process is completed.
