Eligibility to apply for citizenship after first PR expiry

Will it be possible to apply for citizenship after first PR card expiry by one year? I didn't meet the physical presence requirements in the first 5 years but I will meet it one year after expiry date; will it be possible to apply for citizenship (previous days counted) or I should wait to fulfill the requirements in the next 5 years (hence previous days cancelled). thank you
