Eligibility for Canadian Experience Class

Hi Guys,

I have about 10 months experience in canada and I worked 40 hours per week. So it becomes about 40x40=1600 hours. Mininum working hours to be counted as experience class is 1560 hours. Can I apply under experience class? Or both the conditions should be matched - 12 month and 1560 hours to be counted in experience class?

I believe you should wait for 12 months. Meanwhile, you can get your application ready to go as you might have to gather a lot of info (former employers letters, medical exams, IELTS/CELPIP, etc).

Also, CIC has a rule somewhere that they do not even consider 40 hours per week, its max 37 or something (someone posted here).

This is what CIC says:

Have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply

Full Time - 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

You will have to wait for two more months.

I have received FSW invitation instead of CEC.. is that a mistake? i see both are MET in my profile. can I still apply as FSW?

There is no confusion. Standard CIC policy that they will issue ITA under FSW category if your meet eligibility requirements for both CEC and FSW.
