Hey Everyone,

I have a quick question, my current CRS score with English as first language is 500'sh and I'm hoping to bump this up by learning French.

My question is what is minimum requirement of CLB/NCLC in French which can allow me to be eligible in French category?

Is CLB 4 or 5 enough? Considering French category have very lowest scores at the moment, I'm hoping to aim atleast that.

I don't know if I can be able to achieve high score in French in a short span as I am a complete rookie. Can anyone please help?

Thanks

CLB 4/5 is not enough for French draws. Need CLB7. If you can immerse yourself for a year and dedicate yourself it is possible.

So you are saying to be eligible in French category, we need clb 7? Just to be eligible? Could you please share any source with me?

CLB7 is considered advanced-intermediate for the language.

Eligibility for the French-language proficiency category
To be eligible, you must

  • have French-language test results that show a minimum score of 7 in all 4 language abilities on the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens
  • meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that round
