EI due to sickness

I am working in Canada under condition of closed Work Permit (with LMIA) and recently was injured. I won't be able to work at least 2 weeks due to this trauma. Can I apply for EI due to sickness, being a temporary worker with closed Work Permit (with LMIA)?
Will issuing of EI due to sickness affect negatively my Express Entry profile and my PR be rejected in future?
