Hi everyone,

I finished my 1 year of work experience and in the process of applying for PR. I am filling out my express entry profile online and had a question regarding the education history section.

I started my 4 years Bachelors degree in my home country and finished 1 year before I transferred to a Canadian University and finished the rest of my 3 years in Canada and was awarded a Canadian degree. I got the transfer credits for my university in home country when I applied here.

In short, I did 1 year in home country + 3 years of education in Canada. I am entering these as two separate entries in the Education history.

So for the 1 academic year of university I completed in my home country, I am a little confused how to answer the following questions:

1. Standing at the end of study period

a) in good standing but no degree awarded
b) not completed

2. Level of education

a) One year program at a University
b) Bachelor's degree at a University

Also, to confirm, I put in 3 full academic years for my Canadian University education history. Does that change if I got transfer credits?

Your help is much appreciated!

Hi there,

I can only answer your second question. The first one doesn't make any sense as you finished your studies.

Since you finished your studies in Canada and you obtained a degree here, you should choose (b) Bachelor's degree at a University.

Stick around for more replies,

All the best,

Hi rezafc,

Thanks for your answer. I can see how it could get a little confusing, so I added some more context to the original post. What I meant to ask was that when I am entering the details of my 1 year of university (before coming to canada), I am not sure how to answer the question of "Standing at the end of study period", since I did not finish and transferred to Canada and completed the remaining 3 years here.

If you have any advice or suggestions, please do help!

Ahh that makes sense now! Then you should choose (a) in good standing but no degree awarded for your first question.

Hi @Gunpreet,

I'm in a really similar situation right now. Did that work out for you before?
Do you also need to explain it in the letter of explanation or somewhere else as well?

Many many thanks!

Hello everyone,

I am in a similar position and would appreciate some guidance.

I completed three semesters in one program, and then withdrew (Received an exit Certificate) and transferred the credits for a Higher National Diploma Level 5 at a different College . Based on the completion of the HND , I enrolled and earned a Bachelor's degree from a different institute (UHert).

That is 3 certificates from 3 different universities. Initially, when I submitted the EE profile, I only claimed points for the Bachelor's degree, since that was my highest year of study, but chose 3 years of college only at The University of Hertfordshire (Bachelor's), rather than mentioning all the three universities.

Turns out, WES evaluated my credentials as a 1 year college certificate from the first college, and a 4 years Bachelors from Hertfordshire (Equivalent in Canadian education ). The HND level 5 was not evaluated separately.

I am not sure, what to claim points for now. Should I continue to claim points only for the Bachelors earned at UHert and mention other colleges as well. Or should I separately claim additional points for the 1 year college certificate WES evaluated? Note: Even though I have a Certificate og higher education for the first three semester, my credits were transferred towards the HND.

Your kind help will be appreciated. I hope I did not confuse every one too much

Thanks,

Few details to clear the confusion:
BPP university: 135 credits (1 Year College certificate awarded)
Pearson HND Level 5: 240 credits (Including the 135 at BPP) (HND completion)
Uhert: 140 Credits (Bachelor awarded)

WES Evaluation: 1 year college certificate, 4 year bachelor's (Canadian Equivalency)
