Hey all,
Outland common-law here.
I know my Ecas is supposed to be the definitive proof and updated daily. but mine seems to be out dated. Not only does my Sponsor ECAS using my spouses UCI shows only
1. Received.
2. Medicals passed.
Whereas the applicant, my UCI shows:
1. Received.
2. Medicals passed.
3. 'we sent you a correspondence....'
Neither of them says that our application is being processed, but we know it is since we got an update after contacting our MP (We didn't hear anything for 7 months after AOR1) and the update stated that not only was Ottawa currently processing our eligibility at the moment, but Mississauga was doing our BGC at the same time.
Which our GCkeys DO reflect.. anyone have an opinion on this?

Both 'services' are as flaky as hell. It is not at all uncommon for them to disagree with each other. MyCIC is / was intended to replace ECAS, but not happened yet. I suggest you 'combine the two' and assume the best in each case.
Yep - pretty unimpressive I know.

actually...?
this response was entirely more hopeful than I could have asked for. (yes, I know. My standards are very low now thanks to this whole process.)
Why?
1. MyCIC was intended to replace Ecas.- that makes me feel better since I see more movement there.
2. Both are crap. -just reaffirming what we all know and fe(el/ar)
3. you reminded me to hope for the best!

I know! You application IS moving, it is just slow and hit-and-miss whether either tracking system gets updated correctly or not. It will all come in a rush at the end, rest assured.
If you want another cr*p CIC / CBSA system, check out the new tablet booth customs declaration stuff they are introducing at various Canadian airports (Ottawa for one). They are doing away with the paper forms and asking you to touch screen into a booth at the border.
Sounds good right? Except that the software is buggy, you have first to scan either your passport or PR Card and to do so you have to be VERY precise as to where the card is places and which way around it is or it will error repeatedly - reduced my wife to tears of frustration and we were directed to speak to a 'real person' (CBSA) who pretty much said 'yeah, they are as buggy as hell', she then whispered 'you don't HAVE to use the booths, you can ask to go to a CBSA agent and do it the old fashioned way!'. My screen switched from my chosen language of English to what I can only guess was some Arabic language half way through input for no reason!

Right now I'm just looking forward to being to take out my PR card after travel and then proceed to cry over a terrible customs booth.
