Hello All,

I have Postgraduate diploma (one year) written in my WES ECA.
What is correct educational factor out of 1-8 below as none of them clearly specify.
My Main confusion is between 4 and 5

Express Entry education factor
1) University degree at the Doctoral (PhD) level
2) University degree at the Master’s level
3) Professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession
4) Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees.
5) Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
6) Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
7) One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
8) Secondary school (high school diploma)

Appreciate your feedback and assistance.

Thanks,
Vishal

I believe you should go with "One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute".

For Bachelor it says.... Bachelor's degree (four years)

choose option 4, two or more degrees!

You should have mentioned that before. You can go with option 4 - "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees".

It is obvious that if someone has a postgrad...he would have completed graduation already.

Obvious in general but not when WES is concerned. If the bachelor's is not evaluated or is evaluated as equivalent of a bachelor's that is less than 3 years then using option 4 would have caused a possible rejection. Based on information that was available in the first post, it was right to suggest to go with option 7. Having a bachelor's was obvious but that does not automatically make option 4 the obvious choice.

Good point! May be I just didn't realize!

But then, WES evaluations are sometimes weird. I recall an applicant who had done a certificate course (or some kind of diploma) after he completed his Bachelor's but then, that was evaluated to "Completion of a undergraduate major (1 semester)" {That's a close paraphrase, I don't recall the EXACT evaluation). For very few (Indian) applicants, in early 2015, I recall their 2 year post graduate diplomas were evaluated as "Masters" by WES. Evaluations are sometimes out of the ordinary. May be I just wanted to be sure!! :)

On the above point...my hunch is, For WES it depends on the accredited university/autonomous body which conferred the degree/diploma. For them some university/autonomous bodies are above (read better) than the rest, and surely always always inferior than their Canadian counterpart, whereas the reality may many times be otherwise.
Agree... :)

Maybe. I did my 3 yrs bachelor and 2 yrs full time master and they considered it as 4 yrs Bachelor and 1 yrs Post Graduate.. :(
I could have acquired more points if they had considered it as Masters.

Unfortunately, That is true.

One of the reason for WES to evaluate your 3 Yrs Bachelors + 2 Yrs Masters as 4 yrs Bachelors + 1 Yrs post grad is all Canadian Bachelors are for 4 yrs.
