My wife finally received AOR after 4 months and is able to log in with her B number on e-cas. It says for my wife that CIC received the application on december 3rd 2010. It doesn't mention about the medicals we sent with the file. Is this normal? Did they lose the paper the doctor gave us to include in the application? In the AOR, it didn't say we had to do medical exams or anything.
On my part, it still shows "Not available" for her permanent residency status.
Any ideas? is this normal? I know e-cas is not the most accurate system in the world...but everybody seems to have "the received medical exams" these days...
In my case every time that they sent us a letter the medical was showing on e-cas but after a while it was going out ...so I think this is e-cas issue...I'll say just wait a while they will pop up.
"Medicals received" isn't always added to ecas. It wasn't for us (and it wasn't for many others going through Buffalo). We also never received the "interview waived" letter (but didn't require an interview). What's more, ecas still showed "in process" after my husband received PPR and continued to show "in process" for about two weeks after he landed.
So I completely agree with Jez. Don't stress out about ecas. There doesn't appear to be a standard for what information is entered and when.
Our said "medical received" and then they sent us an email saying they hadn't gotten a copy of the medicals - Go Figure.
Then the "medical received" disappeared - it's still missing - even though we got an email from the VO saying that the medical results had arrived.
I agree with everyone else - take e-cas updates with a grain of salt, and if the VO corresponds with you via email you will often get the email before the e-cas update anyway.
E-CAS is being replaced by GCMS. They are in transition phase and there have been plenty of glitches and will continue to be more until it has been completely changed. Don't let what's in or not in E-CAS stress you out. Besides, the visa offices have never been consistent in what they put into the system. Like scylla said, some never move beyond "In Process" until the applicant has landed as a PR.
I don't exactly know. It's supposed to be a better and more advanced system. They got some pretty old stuff going on at CIC when it comes to entering data. And there are two systems, CAIPS and FOSS that filter into ECAS. Now there will be only one. There have often been complaints on here about what you are able to access via ECAS as well as in the legal community. I think everyone is hoping it will be more accessible and user friendly and consistent. But really, I don't know.
thanks everybody. This relaxes me. I am just wondering if the VO has sent me a letter saying they have my case and that they don't need further things (usually in the bogota VO, if a document is missing or something, they will ask for the doc with AOR since it's sent 4 months after sponsorship approval more or less)....can I conclude that they received the medical exams. The thing is, I forgot to take a photocopy of the form we had to send in with the application, so I don't even know the medical number my wife has for her exams.
