Duration of W-1 visa after entry ?

Hello,

I'm an employer who has hired a foreign worker from Thailand for the first time.

His W-1 visa says :

Date of issue : 19/08/2021
Expiry date : 30/08/2022

My worker is FINALLY able to enter (after much paperwork necessary with the Thai embassy if it wasnt hard enough) on April 3rd.
Does it means they will only allow him to stay until 30/08/2022 or they will allow him 1 year from the date he enters (April 3rd) ?
