I am getting a drivers license abstract from Utah for exchanging my US drivers license for an Ontario license. I have one speeding ticket on my record more than 2 years ago - does that affect the exchange of licenses? Otherwise, my record is clean. Thanks for your reply.

You can't exchange it but if you have more than 2 years driving experience and can prove it, you will be allowed to take the road test right away instead of having to wait a year like a new driver.

thanks for sharing, I an KSA and is driving here since last 7 years. Do I need original DL or some certification is also needed to go for road test. I would land in Calgary.

One thing I would suggest getting sorted before requesting your driver's abstract is making sure the Utah office shows your record for the date your license was first issued. My wife and I went in to do her exchange and because the driver's abstract only showed her record from the time of her driver's license renewal (18 months ago), we were told she doesn't have proof she's been driving for more than two years and could only get a G2 license. Now we have to go back and speak with the Illinois office and get them to send us the full abstract (which we thought we were getting), so that we can get her a proper Ontario G license. Extremely annoying...
A quick question.
I landed last month in BC. I was given a temporary BC driver's license. (yellow paper)
I was told that official driver's license will be mailed to me next time I walked into ICBC with PR card and temporary driver's license.
Becuase I am currently out of BC, Is this possible if my cousin apply it for me with my PR card and other useful documents?
