i was searching the IRB website and found that domestic abuse is indeed a ground for refugee claimant. it is under " membership of a particular group" .now it is just a matter to prove to iRB the genuity of someone claim and a well founded fear of persecution .
I'm thinking that's a significant stretch of the definition. it's actually a bit broader than just "group" and is actually "social group". (I.e. LGBQT).
