Hello,
I'm applying OUTLAND through the London office, I had a full medical exam done this week ready for my PR application I will be submitting at the end of the month. It was all done on the electronic system and I didn't get any results etc at the time, apart from one patient page I received at the beginning.
Q) Will the visa office automatically request my medical results from the doctors OR do I have to obtain a written copy of these results prior and submit it with my application?
You don't need the results. You only need the slip of paper proving that you have done the medical exam. It has a number on it, so when your application get processed, they can request the results from your doctor (well the doctor enters them into a system and CIC can take them from there) and match it up to your application. So you don't need to get the results themselves.

indeed, there is nothing needed from your side for the moment. However, keep a scan/copy of your paper ( all the whole application in general I would say), in case CIC looses it or can't locate your medicals, you can always send again the scan of it if they ask for it. But in general it goes well!
