does US green card application will affect my Canadian citizenship application?

My mother and I are going to apply for Canadian citizenship. At the same time, my dad in the US sent me some application form for a US green card. If I sign it and submit it, will it affect the process of my Canadian citizenship application?. Please help

I believe it wouldn't matter. Both countries have their own immigration systems. They are not harmonized. US will take what, anywhere from 5-15 years to get processed I assume (from my prior personal knowledge of relatives and friends). Keep both of them going, there is no harm.
