Currently husband (US) and me (US/Can) live in the US and I'm starting the sponsorship app right now. We are hoping to move to be near my parents in Ontario possibly near the end of next year.
I am not sure what the waiting time is for spousal sponsorship but if we get approved, do we immediately have to move or is there a time frame where we have a bit more time to prepare until we are able to make the move permanently? I've heard it might take a long time anyway but just curious about that.
From what I have gathered here on this forum is that US applicants tend to get PR in about 6 months (sometimes less) when using the OUTLAND route. I strongly suggest you use outland!
I think once PR is received, CIC does give you a date by which you must "land".. But someone with more experience will have to confirm this!
Yes, you will have a date that you must "land" before. However, you can land and then go back to the US if you need more time for moving or settling things there.
