Planning to get married (register marriage) soon and its a love marriage. just wondering if we mention it as a love marriage, do we have to provide all previous relationship docs? no problem providing them but since we are planning to register the marriage (marriage at church will be after 6 months) , is gona create any problem if we don't have religious ceremonies and pics ? have any one tried or applied in this way before? what was the end result?? more time in processing (India)?
Thanks for the reply. Can anyone help me with this please? We will loose 6 months if we wait for the religious part to be done. Is there any problem if we go ahead with the register marriage then sponcership after that? Photoscan be taken and people will be present at every ceremonies . Any other suggestions will be appreciated
After a register marriage in India, and before the religious ceremonies, are people still considered married? If you did not ever do the religious ceremonies, would you still be considered married? If yes, you can apply before doing the religious ceremonies. However, you then have to explain that it is a love match, not an arranged marriage, and will have to provide lots of evidence of your prior relationship - to prove that the relationship is genuine.
In India, this could cause delays. I would also wait until after the religious ceremonies to apply; it might end up taking less time in the long run.

6 months is no big deal when you compare the times it takes if you have to have an interview, or even worse get refused and have to appeal which can take 4 years.
Maybe check on the NDVO thread, someone there might know the situation better: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/new-delhi-2015-spousal-visa-applicants-t258676.9375.html
