I am currently working as QA manager. I recently got opportunity to apply for USA b1/b2 visa through my employer and it has already been approved. But due to some organizational reasons, my travel for conference has been rescheduled to 2023. I am thinking of applying for masters degree in canada.
Does the granted b1/b2 visa make my passport strong and strengthen the chance of me getting the canadian student visa?
Does the fact that My b1/b2 visa is approved but I have not travelled to USA yet have an effect in my student visa application?

If you have decent travel history, generally, your case for getting temporary residency gets stronger.
The visa alone is not useful because to be honest, the visa (even in case of USA) is NOT a permission to live in USA. It is just a permission to travel to USA. The actual visa and permission is given by the immigration officer on the airport/border.
So having immigration history makes your case stronger. A history of travel to five eyes countries makes your case stronger. It proves that you have respected immigration law of those countries that share immigration data with each other. Five eye countries are : US Canada UK Australia New Zealand.

Yes and no, you passed the threshold for us visa but you never entered and left to prove your ties to your home country so in essence, you should take precautions like everyone else
I've applied for B1/B2 visa on a work permit last year. Now, I got the Canadian PR last month and my interview date is next month. How can I inform US consulate about my status change?

I can't retrieve and resubmit it. I'm seeing an option for submitting a new application though. A friend of mine told me to submit a new DS-160 form. But I'm worried on complications created by the new DS-160 form on my application.

Create new DS160 means paying another fee and stay for months for the appointment. You can just inform visa officer about change in immi status at the counter. I see that as your option
