Does police clearance certificate require apostille or attestation?

I am in the process of applying spousal sponsorship for my wife. She is currently living in India.
She got the PCC from local district police station. Does this PCC need to be apostilled or attested before submission ?
Any suggestions would be helpful.

If it is the Original you are sending, then why attest ?
Also, I assume that the PCC is issued in English.

For Gulf countries, the local district police station issued PCC need to be attested and there are multiple agencies who gets this done on our behalf(eg. BLS international). I am wondering if it is the same for Canada.

Yes the PCC is in English

When we did ours, all i did was sent that original document what the I got from India (in English) to IRCC. ofcourse i did make copies for myself as a reference.

Did you get the PCC from passport office or district police station?

well, I got it from the consulate. But it was nothing more than a small paragraph. and header and footer, with the seal and signature.
