Hey guys,

Read lots of threads, still torn, please help!!!...My boyfriend is Canadian, I am living with him in Toronto, on my 3 year work permit, have my working visa, which expires next spring. We are applying for my PR under common law class, and originally I wanted to apply as inland because our main proof of common law is sharing a lease for year and a half now. We have join bank accounts, filing out taxes as common law and etc. But i keep seeing people saying its better to apply outland. So will it even make sense for immigration office, if we apply outland, but show our shared lease, shared bank accounts, basically showing that we live together and share everything?

I would only be interested to do outland, as I heard its faster and gives you the right to appeal.
Would appreciate any advice!!!

Hi

It's perfectly fine to apply outland while living in Canada. There is no requirement to apply inland.

Just to add to what Canuck said Outland at least means that if you want to leave the country at any point say a home country trip you can without affecting your application, whereas with an inland it can be problematic in that an application might have the possibility to be considered abandoned.

Inland as am sure you have read gives a spouse opportunity to apply for a open work permit but that’s probably the only real benefit As you have a work permit already until next spring if you apply Outland straight away now although the processing time quoted is 12 months the average seems to be 6-8 months for simple applications.

Good luck

Thank you! Yeah I've decided to go with outland, seams like it is more beneficial in my situation:)
