I was a live-in caregiver and got a open work permit. Can I do a self-employed job? For example, home care or part time babysitter, and then claim my income tax by myself at the end of finance year?

Yes you can... Just add up all your income for home care, babysitting or cleaning for the year and declare it as OTHER INCOME
