Hello,
I am wondering if longer processing time means either good or bad sogn?
I applied for student visa from inside canada with restoration of status to my husband as sowp. I never lost my status, i am here as a visitor after i finished my one year program i went back to my country . My husband tried to extend his work permit based on the job that he had; but it was denied because no lmia..
once it was denied he was asked to leave the country within 90 days,, so I came back to canada as a visitor and applied for 6 months program and received acceptance letter on march 8 and applied for new visa for both of us on march 10. According to the ircc website its 2 weeks for student visa from inside canada,, but until now no answer only asked for biometric for my husband march 11 and it was done march 13.

I need it now, because my visitor status expires on june, and my program ends at july and i am planning to continue education! They said in their website it’s recommended to apply for the study permit even if you dont need one. But anyway ; can someone answer the question if longer process time positive or negative thing. Thanks

Its not about you need it now or not, for short term studies 6months or less you dont need SP, you can simply take that program.. If your visitor status expires in June, Apply to extend visitors status. For your spouse, when did he receive refusal? Most likely they will reject your application, you need to consider that possibility and plan

Why you didnt apply for pgwp? secure eligible job that your husband can apply sowp?...Provided your program is 6months or less, they will refuse your application since you dont need Study Permit.
