Does higher IELTS score enhance chances ??!!!

I got 8 overall
Listening 8.5, Reading 8.5, Speaking 8, Writing 7.
I had to score 23 out 24 in that particular section to reach 67 points as I have only 1 year of work experience.

Selected for what ? University or immigration ?

For immigration it does not matter , you need to get required points and it is done .

For University , yes higher band marks , the better impression and subsequently better chances.

You have very good score , any university will take you
