We've got a receipt number, a UCI number and and application number.
Using these numbers and a combination of my spouse's details (Sponsor) and my own details (Principal Applicant) I have never, ever been able to access ECAS.
Every single time it simply says "We could not identify you.... blah blah"
Does anyone have any reliable information regarding when ECAS does start to show anything? anything at all? It's incredibly frustrating!
is it after SA approval? is it after AOR? or is it much later?
for the most part, ECAS won't start working until AFTER receiving sponsor approval. Even then it takes anywhere from days to weeks before the information is available online. So if the sponsor has not received approval yet or just did, then ECAS won't work. It depends on how quickly the visa officer enters the information, so some people never have it available. Unless the applicant has a UCI number, at first, only the sponsor will be able to sign in using a UCI or file number. Gnerally, receipt numbers do not work.
There are 3 sets of information which can get you in to ECAS.
1. Use the sponsor's UCI and their details (date of birth, last name, country)
2. Use the applicant's UCI and their details
3. Use the file number and the applicant's details. The file number is written above the barcode in your sponsor approval letter/e-mail.
Some people can access ECAS before they receive sponsor approval but for most they can access ECAS once they have received sponsor approval.
I was able to check ECAS one day after receiving sponsor approval.
