Hi

I am a bit confused about Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and Express entry? Are they the same?
If yes, so far I know the express entry requires some certain point (430). I don't have that points.
But, I have 67 points required for the FSWC.
Can I apply for PR? In that case, will it be handled accordin to the criteria of Express entry (430 points)?
It would be great if anyone could help me clearing the confusion?

Thanks
Ripon

So think of it as 2 gates.

You cross gate 1 when you can prove that you can score 67 points or more in the 6 point Eligibility check. Unfortunately for you, so can all the guys who have an EE profile in the pool.

You cross gate 2 when your EE score is above or equal to a threshold. This threshold is determined through draws, to ensure that the top most guys passing gate 1 cross gate 2.

Hope it makes sense.

But remember, if at any point you fail to prove that you can't score 67 points (gate 1 eligibility), you cannot get past gate 2. Even if you do, you'll be stopped at gate PR.

You're mixing up two selection criteria.
First, you need to be eligible to immigrate to Canada under the FSW program. For that, Canada has implemented 6 selection factors which will give you points on a 100 point scale. To be eligible, you need to have at least 67 points. Here is the link explaining the above:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...election-factors-federal-skilled-workers.html

Second, when you find out you are eligible, you create and fill in an express entry profile and enter the pool with all other eligible candidates. As of Sept 27 2018, there are 91,332 eligible candidates. In the pool, information about you such as work experience, language scores etc... will give you what they call a CRS score ranging from 0 to 1200. Based on your score, you will be ranked among all other candidates in the pool. Every now and then, roughly every two weeks on Wednesdays, a certain number of invitations will be sent out to the highest ranked candidates (for example 3900 in the last draw), and the score of the 3900th ranked candidate will be known as the "cut-off score" (445 in the last draw). If you're above that score, you'll receive an invitation to apply. Here is the link outlining CRS points distribution:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...iteria-comprehensive-ranking-system/grid.html

And here is a link to a calculator to see how many CRS points you could potentially have:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

A link to information about the last draw, and candidate point distribution in the pool a few days before the draw:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...-entry/submit-profile/rounds-invitations.html

You were mixing up two distinct elements.
-The 6 factor selection criteria
-And the Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS)
Hope that cleared the confusion.
