I became a Permanent Resident last month, I was on a study visa for two years. I read in this forum that that the new residency requirement under C-24 will be implemented sometime in July 2015. My question is does this affect me (a person who has become a permanent resident before July 2015) or not?
The C-24 will affect every PR regardless of when they landed.
The revoking of citizenship applies to every dual citizenship, both dual naturalized and dual born Canadians.
The "intend to reside" clause only applies to those who apply for Canadian citizenship on or after June 11, 2015. Make no mistake, it only applies to period from application submittal to day of oath. Does not apply once canadian citizenship is acquired.
