Hi Seniors..
Actually I am in a big dilemma. I sent my completed application to CIO on 21/12/2009. But the mistake that I did was that I sent it via ordinary post with no tracking number. In the application I used a credit card valid till April 2010. I just want to know how can I ascertain the fact that CIO received my application. Till today, my credit card has not been charged for anything. What is the normal period for getting any type of acknowledgment from CIO that they have received my documents??
yeah not to worry dbloos.. since you sent it by ordinary post maybe it takes 10 days to reach.. so i think you should receive AOR from CIO by february last week
Just contact with ur bank around 1 march . they will let u know the status of the bank draft sent along with ur application to CIO. There is no another scheme which can work in an way

Hello,
Thanks for your replies and reducing the element of uncertainty and tension for me. Do you mean that they only send AOR after 50-60 days as an evidence of your application acceptance?. When are they going to charge the credit card? Because I read in some forum topics that first thing that they do if they accept the application is to charge the credit card..
Hello Naavy 100,
I sent my application from USA and they told me it may take around 10 days. But the only concern I have is that when would I know for sure that my application has reached safe hands and is under processing? I think I did a big mistake by not adding a tracking number to my mail. It would have reduced this element of uncertainty.
So what I have understood from the replies is that I would get AOR in 50-60 days and that will be the first communication from their side. Correct me if I am wrong..
yes thats why they havnt given you the tracking number.as they said it will take 10-15 days to reach ...the only way to track your application is to check weather your DD is en cashed.or if you paid by CC then weather it is cashed or not it may take 2+ months to get AOR and credit card get charged
man you sent ur application from USA by ordinary mail. I sent my application from PAKISTAN by ordinary mail (Pakistan Post) it reached there I am sure US postal service is more reliable than Pakistan Post. Just chill out you will get an AOR in the first week of March or earlier
