My pgwp has only this note: "document issued to passport expiry date" and it says nothing about extending it after renewing passport. Is anybody in the same situation? if yes, what is your experience with extending it.

Thanks, I went over many discussions in this forum. Usually people have an additional note on their pgwp that says they can apply for extensions once they renew their passport. Mine doesn't have this note. It only says document issued to passport expiry date on pgwp. Is it possible to extend this kind of pgwp?

My work permit was only for 1 year and 9 months. I finished 5 years undergrad university. It should be 3 years PGWP. So there should be 1 year and 3 months more.do you think I can just go ahead apply for extension even if there no additional note regarding the extension?

It's your choice. I didn't bother because my PR application was in process and it was easier to apply for BOWP when you have that application in process.
