Hi! I am coming for a PhD in Canada. While filling out the questionnaire to get the document checklist for the study permit application, there is a question "Is work essential component of your studies?" I would like to know whether the CIC regards the research done during the PhD as work or is it considered as part of education only? I think the latter one is more appropriate but still need to confirm it. Kindly provide your suggestions.
