I just checked my visa card record, and found out I have paid two time fees ($150) online while I was applying work permit.
I remember this mistake happened that was my computer was black out when the first time I paid online, so I paid the fees again.
How should I do to get the extra money back? Please help me!
I only got one receipt for the second time payment. And there are two times fees charged in my credit card statement. ( It was not successful while I was trying to pay at the first, therefor no receipt)
In your credit card statement it's coming as 2 separate transaction or one is coming as hold ?
If its coming as hold then bank will automatically revert after few days. If its coming as transaction then you can contact cic and explain your senario they will revert, however they will take time so be patient.

It will go back to your credit card. Just inform your bank to cancel it. But if you applied online then CIC will refund it to you but if you only paid online and you send your application thru paper then most likely CIC can't trace the double payment because the Internet Receipt should be printed and they will capture the barcode of it. Note: it happens to me, I applied WP renewal online application and paid online too and I paid it twice but after 88 days it's credited back to my credit card. Because at that time processing for WP renewal same employer was 82 days. Btw, just be careful when you phone your bank which transaction has to be cancel.
