Hi. I am in the process of sponsoring my parents. During sponsorship evaluation, I am not sure if I need to mention that I have spousal support in a divorce in another country. My ex wife got her divorce in the US, and she got granted spousal support, which I didnt have the financial means to hire an attorney and contest. I filed for divorce in my home country and got the divorce without an order for spousal support. I am not paying my ex wife spousal support . Can I use my home country divorce certificate to prove that I dont have any pending spousal support payments? Does court ordered refer to a Canadian court only, or covers any foreign court order?
