Do we need POF while Landing to Canada when PR applied in CEC

I have applied for Canada PR as family under CEC in 2014 while working in Canada for around 2 years.
After applying I left Canada in 2015 and settled in UK.
I received my landing request in June 2016 and now we are planning for 1 week trip to complete the landing formality for Canada.
We are working in UK currently and will move to Canada sometime later for good reason.
I have a question regarding Proof of Funds:
Do I need to carry a bank draft for 13000 cad dollars actually although I applied under CEC.
Or will bank statements for UK bank showing enough amount to meet the criteria for 13000 cad dollars serve the purpose.
Anybody who landed with same situation, please respond.

Proof of funds aren't needed for CEC applicants.

OP you do not need to show any type of POF

But my lawyer is saying:
Bank statement you can carry only of Canadian account,, for UK you need to carry the funds either in travelers cheque or draft. I know you applied under CEC, to be on the safer side carry the funds. :'(

A lawyer/consultant's goal will always be to cover all aspects of your application.
Yes you do not require POF but you should follow your lawyer's suggestion provided you have the funds.

Cannot comment on "type" of document. Please search this forum there are several threads regarding this.

We do have funds but conversion from pounds to cad rates are high and we are planning a week's trip only; so after that we again have to convert from cad to pounds; I hope you understand my problem.

I have never heard that bank statements are only eligible from Canadian banks.

Also I hope if we carry VISA debit and credit card for UK, they will be enough for POF.

I doubt it. How would that even work ? Showing that you have a debit card gives the VO no information other than that you have a debit card; he doesn't know how much money is on the card.
You need a bank statement.
