Do scans have to be certified for online application?

Greetings,

I wish to verify,though I have done some research into it. Whether the scans of my supporting documents and of my family members need to be certified by a notary then scanned and then uploaded to MyCIC. Or can the scans just be of my original documents and then uploaded. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Dear David, sorry that my response is coming in late. If the documents are original, u need not notarize them except the letter of financial support which is always notarized. Hope this confirms your initial research?

Where does it say they have to be notarized? Its rather distressing because we just spent a few days running around getting bank statements etc notarized. Now the letter. I mean none of this is mentioned on the website or online portal, why ?
