I have a flight from toronto to new delhi via milan. Do I need a transit visa in milan (10 hours stp).? Then I have to stop in Rome (but not go out of plane)

No transit visa needed , but just so you know when you land in Milan you will still go through passport control, as you are entering the schengen area.

No. You will be doing an air-side transit. no visa required. However, contrary to what the gentleman above me has said, you should not be going through passport control. You will be going through a round of security check however, for your hand luggage.

You do not require any visa for such a short duration. However, if you want to exit the airport you would need to go through the security check.
