I'm from Syria and a resident of Kuwait. My father will be the one to support me during my stay in Canada so I'm going to show his bank statements for 4 months and a letter from him saying he will sponsor me.

I have heard that GIC will help me a lot with my study permit application. However, in Scotia Bank's website it states that GIC is for people from India and Philippines.
Many people also told me the same.

Am I not allowed to use GIC or I just don't need?

Would it be better to get GIC if I'm Syrian or should I just show bank statements and annual income etc?

I appreciate you trying to help me with this problem.
