Do I need my TRV valid when leaving Canada?

Hi all,

I am leaving Canada with my family and we are not coming back...

My wife has a valid work permit but her TRV expired last month and we do not have time to renew it before we leave. My question is: does she need a valid TRV when leaving Canada if she does not intend to come back in the near future?

By the way. If she has a valid permit... does she need a TRV to remain in Canada? or the TRV is only needed to re-entry in Canada?

The work permit grants her status in Canada. As long as that is valid, she has status.

She will need a TRV to re-enter Canada if she leaves (regardless of status). It is possible to apply for a TRV within Canada if you are in status, so you can get a TRV, then travel, and re-enter with no issues.
