I read from IRCC's website that I don't need a police check for my time in Canada (https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=037&top=4). Can someone help confirm that this is correct? I'm still waiting on my provincial nomination letter, but I want to apply for it in advance if needed. I tried to call one authorized police check company in Toronto, and I was told nowadays only people who received a request letter from IRCC in the later stage of the application will need to get a Canadian police check. Does it mean I only need to get the police check from my home country? Thanks in advance!
Yeah that is correct. You only need to get the police certificates from the countries you have lived for 6 months or more in a row since the age of 18. As for the Canadian one, you do not need one because they can communicate with RCMP internally with your biometrics to check your records.
