Do I need a 6 month bank statement or is 4 months enough?

For a visitors visa, I have seen them ask for both, a minimum of 6 months as well as a minimum of 4 months.

I am asking specifically because my 4 month bank statement shows a decent bit more funds than the 6 month (Since there were a few large transactions done in that period).
