Hi friends, hope you could help me with this:)

My husband just sent our spousal visa application to the Case Processing Centre last weekend. I plan to retain my maiden name in my country of birth, Philippines, and just use my married name when I move to Canada. With this, I only changed my surname to my married name in my passport but with all other IDs such as tax, health card, and driver's license I just updated my status to married. Will I encounter any issue with this arrangement? Will they allow me to apply for a Canadian driver's license using my PH driver's license that bears my maiden name and my passport that has my married name? Will establishments require me to have 2 valid IDs bearing the same name? Or my passport will suffice in applying for bank accounts, credit cards etc?

Thank you!

you can't have 2 id's in 2 different names. i'd recommend carrying a copy of your marriage certificate when transferring your license so they can see you are the same person. your passport will be fine for opening a bank account, so it's a non issue. usually, the marriage certificate works fine for proving the name change anywhere it's needed.

^Thanks CDNPR2014. I'd do just that:)
