Do I inform IRCC about renewed Home Country's passport?

Hi,
My Canadian citizenship application is in process. I have completed my test. In the mean time, I have renewed my home country's passport. The old passport with which I applied my citizenship, recently expired. My home country allows me to have dual citizenship. I did my application online. '

Do I need to inform IRCC about the new passport while the citizenship application is in process?

Hi if they ask for new passport then you can send it for safe side you call ircc and get advice with them

You can, but you don't have to.
IRCC only cares about your 5 years eligibility period and the new passport falls outside it. Feel free to do it, but it should have no effect on your application whether you notify them or not.

No you dont.. we submitted our family application in Aug 2021 my daughters passports was renewed in Nov 2021.
Never informed IRCC.
Your documents should be valid at the time of submission thats all you need to make sure... afterwards what happens with your documents i.e renewal etc IRCC is not concerned
