I applied under CEC and have got my Passport and COPR. After completing my landing procedure do I have to apply for PR card by filling up Form MM5444 and other forms or I have to do nothing as I will automatically receive one as part of the immigration process.
Also I want to go back home India asap...so is there a way I can get the PR card faster than the 47 day waiting time period ??
Thank you
No - you don't need to apply for the PR card. It will be automatically send to you as part of the immigration process.
No - there is no way to expedite your first PR card. You will either have to obtain a travel document to return to Canada or have someone in Canada mail the card to you in India.
Since u have crossed canadian border already then u shudnt risk yourself with departing canada without holding pr card. One of my friend was not allowed to come back since he hadnt received his pr card yet and he flew back to india on landing papers after crossing canadian-us border already. Not worth risking your status.
Pr card takes close to 4-6 months in processing.
