Do I already need a job set up before a apply for a work permit?

Hi

I'm from the UK and i've just started my temporary work application. Do I already need a job set up before a apply for a work permit?

I know this is an obvious question, but I just need some clarity.

Yes - you need a job offer to apply for a work permit. More specifically, you need a job offer and also an approved Labour Market Opinion (both are provided by your employer). Without these two things, your work permit will be automatically refused.
